When you sign the surrogacy contract, a lawyer representing you will be present. The lawyer will appear in court during the surrogate's mid-term pregnancy to establish parental rights for you before the child is born. Once the child is born, you will have 100% parental rights. When you decide to bring the child back to your home country, there is no need for the lawyer's involvement. You can apply for a U.S. passport for the child as a mother or father, enabling you to take the child to your home country.
